doubling and halving

in class, we have been learning about doubling and halving numbers to simplify the numbers  

when you do this strategy you look to  see how you can make it easier by doubling and halving

1. 5x48= so first you can  halve 48 which is 24 and double the 5 which is 10 and 24x10=240

2. 5x16=what you do is double the 5 and a half 16 so that is 10x8=80 

 

and that is how you doubling and halving

 In class, we have been learning about limerick poems

A limerick is a humorous poem where the first and second lines rhyme and the third doesn't rhyme with the first and second but rhymes with the third and fourth. 

There once was a man from Columbia

He loved to eat cucumber

One day  he choked 

He drank some  coke

 and that was the man from columbia

Here is an example poem we look at in class…

Apostle Paul 

I once was a man named Saul.

I thought I knew it all.

I persecuted the church.

I went to Damascus to search.

Where Jesus transformed me into Paul.

I had lost my sight

All I could see was night.

I heard Jesus’s voice.

I made Him my choice.

Praise the Lord, I saw the Light.
